The Last Remnant is set in a fictional world featuring a number of distinct humanoid races; the Mitras, most human in appearance, the Yamas, strong fish-like people, the Qsitis, small reptilians, and the Sovanis, feline people with four arms. The story of the game revolves around "remnants", mysterious and coveted ancient artifacts of varying shapes and sizes which possess magic powers and which have been the cause of several wars throughout the game's history. As Remnants come in varying forms, all cities throughout the world have one that their ruler is bound to that assist to govern and bring peace to their assigned realm.
For example, Athlum has the Valeria Heart; a gigantic sword set in the middle of the Town Square. It governs courage and gives all those it surrounds the strength to stand up for their rights. David, the ruler of Athlum also is bound to the Gae Bolg; a weapon Remnant that is shaped like a cannon and can deliver devastating effects on the battlefield.

Ten cities have been revealed for the world of The Last Remnant which are Athlum, Balterossa, Celepaleis, Ghor, Royotia, Melphina, Nagapur, Baaluk, Elysion, and Undelwalt. They all have their own monumental Remnants.


Game Features
The Last Remnant features a brand new battle system labelled by Hiroshi Takai
(director) as a "Turn-based, command-based system using symbol encounters." There are no random encounters.It also contains quick time events, sequences where the player must press a combination of buttons with a correct timing to defeat enemies. Pressing a correct button on the correct timing increases the battle effect and increase the damage too. Also,the next player attacking will also be pushed up on the action list.

In addition to the main character, the player's team (called a "Union") is composed of a number of soldiers whose skills vary according to different parameters. One parameter is the "morale" bar, which is affected by the events in battle and affects the way characters perform in battle. Battles can involve up to 70 enemies at once and are at the core of the gameplay. Nobuyuki Ueda has commented on the battle system, claiming that it is "much deeper than the few seconds it received in the movie".Additionally, a high number of quests are expected.

Beat the game and start a new one and you'll be able to carry over certian things. Components, formations, gold, magazines, maps, Mr. Digg's status, and Rush's first tier of arts are carried over.

Counter-Strike is a first-person shooter in which players join either the terrorist team, the counter-terrorist team, or becomes a spectator. Each team attempts to complete their mission objective and/or eliminate the opposing team. Each round starts with the two teams spawning simultaneously.

A player can choose to play as one of four different default character models (four for each side, although Counter-Strike: Condition Zero added two extra models, bringing the total to ten). Players are generally given a few seconds before the round begins (known as "freeze time") to prepare and buy equipment, during which they cannot attack or move. This happens when a map is changed to spawn players at a certain height above the ground, thus causing fall damage to the player. They can return to the buy area within a set amount of time to buy more equipment (some custom maps included neutral "buy zones" that could be used by both teams). Once the round has ended, surviving players retain their equipment for use in the next round; players who were killed begin the next round with the basic default starting equipment.

Standard monetary bonuses are awarded for winning a round, losing a round, killing an enemy, being the first to instruct a hostage to follow, rescuing a hostage or planting (Terrorist)/defusing (Counter terrorist) the bomb.

The scoreboard displays team scores in addition to statistics for each player: name, kills, deaths, and ping (in milliseconds). The scoreboard also indicates whether a player is dead, carrying the bomb (on bomb maps), or is the VIP (on assassination maps), although information on players on the opposing team is hidden from a player until his/her death, as this information can be important.

Killed players become "spectators" for the duration of the round; they cannot change their names until they spawn (come alive) again, text chat cannot be sent to or received from live players; and voice chat can only be received from live players and not sent to them (unless the cvar sv_alltalk is set to 1). Spectators are generally able to watch the rest of the round from multiple selectable views, although some servers disable some of these views to prevent dead players from relaying information about living players to their teammates through alternative media (most notably voice in the case of Internet cafes and Voice over IP programs such as TeamSpeak or Ventrilo). This form of cheating is known as "ghosting".

Dead Space 2 is a survival horror third-person shooter. The player controls Isaac Clarke from a third-person point of view, looking over the character's right shoulder. The game features no HUD, relying on holograms projected from the player character and his weapons to show information such as messages and ammunition count, respectively. Isaac must fight an alien organism that infects and takes control of human corpses, turning them into "Necromorphs", mutating their bodies.

The player encounters zero-G environments, where Isaac is capable of maneuvering with thrusters attached to his suit.

Dead Space 2 offers five difficulty levels; Casual, Normal, Survivalist, Zealot and Hard Core. Hard Core mode is unlocked once the game has been completed. It can only be played from a fresh start and the player is limited to three saves in the entire game, with ammunition, health, supplies and credits being very difficult to find, and enemies are very challenging. There are no checkpoints in this mode.
